History
Pamela Dorman Books launched its first hardcover list in January 2010. The imprint focuses on the kind of books Dorman has published throughout her career: fiction--especially debut fiction that is both well-written and accessible--character-driven novels propelled by strong storytelling and rich emotional cores. These are books that are aimed at an upmarket popular audience, both literate and commercial, the kinds of novels that reading groups adopt, that readers treasure, and that will have long lives in trade paperback and e-book formats ahead of them. Dorman also publishes the occasional non-fiction title, particularly books that have a distinctive voice and compelling narrative drive, including memoirs, psychology and books geared towards women's interests.
Recent titles include Jojo Moyes' New York Times bestsellers Me Before You and The Girl You Left Behind, as well as her word-of-mouth success The Last Letter from Your Lover. Dorman has also published debut bestsellers Saving Ceecee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman, Premio Strega winner Paolo Giordano's critically-acclaimed international bestseller The Solitude of Prime Numbers, and New York Times bestseller 22 Brittania Road by Amanda Hodgkinson. Most recently the imprint has published the acclaimed suspense debuts The Never List by Koethi Zan and North of Boston by Elisabeth Elo, as well as Emily Croy Barker's literary fantasy novel The Thinking Woman's Guide to Real Magic, and will launch Natalie Baszile's literary debut, Queen Sugar, in the winter of 2014.
