History
Atlantic Monthly Press is no longer an independently functioning press.
The Atlantic Monthly Press was founded in 1917, by publisher Little, Brown, as an off-shoot of the venerable New England Literary Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly. Almost immediatly it became apparent that the press was to carry on a tradition of high literary quality, as it collected an impressive number of Pulitzer and National Book Awards. It became an independent entity in 1985, and merged with Grove Press in 1993 to form Grove/ Atlantic, Inc.
Atlantic Monthly Press continues to contribute to the Science Fiction/ Family genres today, with such noted titles as "Winterking," by Paul Hazel. See also "Grove/ Atlantic".
