Synopsis
Two public school boys, Pullman and Satters who have been killed fighting as soldiers in World War I find themselves in the Plain of Death outside the Celestial City. They journey through this spatially and temporally shifting Limbo until they reach the entrance to Heaven. Outside the gate is an immense crowd entertained and judged by the monstrous and cavorting figure of the Bailiff.
