Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Those are some great shorts. The robot is my favorite of the bunch. Phillips spent some money on that campaign and it really shows. What a beautiful TV that is too! We want's it, Precious!

Regular Posts: 92 Location: Boston, MA | just now stumbled upon this - http://vimeo.com/groups/worldhd/videos/11099712The Raven i thought it was a bit repetitive and didn't show much depth in idea/story line, not convinced that a budget of only $5000 is to be blamed. Dave, could you rename the thread to something like "SF/F Shorts"? seems like the thread can expand beyond philips's movies. Edited by hihik 2010-04-22 7:50 PM

Regular Posts: 92 Location: Boston, MA | them damn russians again .. :D http://atlanticghostempire.com (video within) The Koi of Hungwa tells the story of Rose and John, a young couple living in the hostile world of 1970s post-devastation New York City, with only each other to rely on. Rose is nine months pregnant and could give birth any day. Johns sole purpose is to protect his wife and their unborn child as winter approaches and food is scarce. In his pocket John holds the key to their salvation, a secret that many would kill for, and as the couple desperately prepare for the birth of their child, these dark forces are already closing in on them. This is only the beginning

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | So there's a magic Koi that's going to save humanity? Interesting concept and a pretty good short to boot. I'll tune in for the rest as it comes out.

I wish we had something like that in Dallas! SF Signal posted a neat little short about Mars that's worth a look and a fun Oedipus short as well.

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Check out Ark on Hulu. Found this the other day and I really like it. It's a web series and each episode is around 5-10 minutes so you can watch all 9 episodes in a single sitting. It's a bit irritating that's it's chopped up like that but worth a look I think.

Admin Posts: 4003 Location: Dallas, Texas | Check it out the first episode on YouTube. It's really quite good. You can read about the show on Vovo . More episodes are being filmed and the producers are looking for donations to pay for the series. Donate a few bucks if you like it.

Regular Posts: 92 Location: Boston, MA | stumbled - http://vimeo.com/31894179 ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankinds last attempt to restore the earths ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival. The short-film was created entirely by young comic-artist Jess Orellana with no budget during a single year. Since it's world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, ROSA has been an official selection at film festivals around the world such as Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi or Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October ROSA was screened at the opening night of the Sitges International Film Festival, considered the world's best festival specialized in genre films. Following the succesful festival run, the short film has attracted the attention of the major talent-agencies and Hollywood producers. Currently ROSA is in development to be a live-action motion picture.
