Member Posts: 13 | I am finishing up the Robot Series this weekend. I also read the whole Foundation Series by Asimov this year. I have not read the Foundation books written by the other authors yet.

Uber User Posts: 202 Location: Sacramento, California | My favorite author. I own over one hundred of his fiction and non-fiction books, and yet, it's only a fifth of his writings. I've read all of his fictional books. LOVE the Good Doctor.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1031 Location: UK | I recently reread Caves of Steel, and it stood up fairly well.I love the way science fiction books ever nudge up the world population necessary for Malthusian nightmare. In Caves of Steel the population is 8 billion, and things are so bad the whole of society has had to make drastic changes, and mankind are teetering on the brink.I suppose in those dark times after WW2 with widespread deprivation and hunger around the world, with a population of 2 billion,8 billion must have seemed appaling.I wonder what figure a writer today would have to use to frighten us out of our wits.... 14 billion?

Uber User Posts: 794 | No, he wrote or edited over 500 books. He wrote a lot of non-fiction mostly about science but also about diverse subjects from Shakespeare to dirty limericks.

Regular Posts: 96 Location: Cheshire, England | I love Asimov and started with the Lucky Starr books when I was school. I then went on to the Foundation series and then the Robots series. I think joining up the Foundation and the Robots streams was a bad move though and the final books were pretty dire but I still got them anyway! My favourite books outside these series would probably be The Gods Themselves and The Stars, Like Dust.
