Biography
Tara Prescott is an American writer, editor, and teacher, who earned her B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing at UCLA. She also holds an M.A. from The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in English, specializing in twentieth-century American literature, from Claremont Graduate University.
Prescott is a Lecturer in Writing Programs at UCLA. Her research interests include twentieth- and twenty-first century American literature, modernism, poetry, graphic novels, feminist theory, and James Joyce. The subjects she teaches include English composition, rhetoric, and language, as well as specialized Honors courses in James Joyce and Neil Gaiman.
Prescott's published works are nonfiction analyses of writers and literature genres.
You may see her reading and walking at the same time down Bruin Walk at UCLA, which is one of her more unusual abilities. Dr. Prescott is also a certified rescue diver, enjoys hiking (just finished 2 months on the Appalachian Trail), and drinks far too much coffee. She looks forward to encouraging residents with their own writing projects and inviting them over for tea.
