Biography
David Conyers is a science fiction and weird fiction author, with stories appearing in magazines such as Albedo One, SQ Magazine, Ticon4, Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, Book of Dark Wisdom, Lovecraft eZine and Jupiter, as well as more than twenty anthologies. His science fiction and horror fiction are collected in the e-books The Nightmare Dimension, The Entropy Conflict and The Uncertainty Bridge.
He is the author of the popular Harrison Peel series, science fiction Lovecraftian horror in a military setting, which includes the e-books The Impossible Object, The Weaponized Puzzle, The Elder Codex and The Eye of Infinity.
Previous anthologies David has edited include Extreme Planets (with David Kernot and Jeff Harris), Cthulhu Unbound 3 (with Brian M Sammons), Cthulhu's Dark Cults and Undead & Unbound (with Brian M Sammons). With David Kernot and Jason Fischer he was the editor of Midnight Echo 6: The Science Fiction Horror Special, and today is the Arts and General editor for Albedo One, Ireland's longest running magazine of speculative fiction.
David has been nominated for several awards including the Aeon, Aurealis, Ditmar and Australian Shadows, and made the preliminary ballot in the Bram Stoker Awards for Cthulhu's Dark Cults. He has won both the Australian Horror Writers Assocation's Flash Fiction and Short Story Awards.
Born in Sydney and growing up in the Adelaide Hills, David graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Melbourne. He worked on several remote projects in outback Western Australia including the construction of a gas pipeline and the commissioning of a mine processing plant. Afterwards he backpacked through Africa and Europe before returning to Australia where he worked in marketing and corporate communications, eventually managing a marketing services department for a global engineering company. Today he works in marketing management role again in construction, but for a local company.
He has travelled extensively in six continents and over twenty-five countries, all of them providing inspiration for his writing. He lives in Adelaide with his wife and daughter.
