A unique protagonist becomes an unlikely hero
This is pretty incredible as a novel, let alone as a first novel. It's told in the first person by a narrator who is Borderline Personality Disorder, who is recruited from a mental health facility where she is treading psychological dead-end water, to working for a group which acts as the liaison between the human world and the dark, gritty faerie world (of which most humans are not aware).
The premise is very interesting, and the fantastic plotline very well done (be prepared for an ambiguous, atypical protagonist). I thought it was a pretty realistic depiction (if perhaps a bit too kind) of BPD thinking. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
