The Fifth Season

The Fifth Season had complex and fascinating worldbuilding, relatable characters, and lovely prose. I did not see that plot twist coming but wow oh wow, it made perfect sense. I feel strongly invested in these characters and this world, despite their flaws, and am looking forward to the next book in the series, which is coming out later this year.
