The Speed of Dark

This book deserves all five stars and then some. It is a moving character study reminiscent of Flowers For Algernon. Though it does call to mind that major work of the 60's it is in no way a faded rip off. This story is strong in its own right. It totally deserved to win the Nebula Award. The Speed of Dark will keep you guessing all the way until the last paragraph. Not only do you care for the protagonist you almost want to be him. I cannot recommend this book any higher. If you haven't read it you should consider it.
