The Slow Regard of Silent Things - Patrick Rothfuss

This book is about Auri and only Auri. Auri lives below the ground and rarely goes up to the surface. Auri is very particular in her mannerisms and does everything just so. Auri is very particular in her speech patterns. Auri is very isolated and seems to not interact with other beings. Auri waits so patiently for him to visit and is preparing just so.

I have no idea who "he" is. I probably need to read the Kingkiller Chronicles to find that out. But it doesn't matter. This whole story puts the reader in Auri's world and he is obviously a very important person. Not having read any other books by Patrick Rothfuss and reading the warning at the beginning of this book not to start here as this is not the continuation of the series, but only a book about Auri, I read it anyway. It is delightful. The prose of Auri's voice is proper. The descriptions of her life underground -- the setting, the objects she finds - are interesting enough to make me want to read the Kingkiller Chronicles to see just what is going on.
