Blood Meridian

I've heard it said that Blood Meridian is the most violent novel in the American cannon. I would not be surprised if it's true. This is a story of everything that went wrong, was wrong, is wrong about the American West; it's about everything they conveniently left out or glossed over in the history books. This is a novel where cold rational business interests, political interests, and racial gamesmanship equate with and condone wanton savagery. Butchery is a good days work.
