Earthman, Come Home

Earthman, Come Home was the first book published in the Cities in Flight series and is also the longest. Each of the nine chapters is more or less a self-contained short story, giving the novel the episodic feel of a pulp serial. Each chapter acts as an exciting new adventure for Mayor John Amalfi and his ragtag crew of the Okie city of New York. The best book of the series so far in my opinion, it is certainly the most action-oriented, even if the characterizations suffer in the wake.
