Out of the Silent Planet

Not my cup of tea.

Linguistics professor is kidnapped, taken to Malacandra (Mars), meets three alien species and has a lot of philosophical discussions. Not much else happens, and the philosophy is a blatant Christian tract. OK as far as it goes... but it doesn't go very far as a SF novel.

I read it for the historical value, would otherwise probably have bounced off it.
