This book was exactly as I expected it to be. Which is to say, very good, but after 38 other Discworld books, not entirely surprising. It seems both a good thing and a bad thing that my expectations are so finely tuned. Good that this level of quality can be sustained for so long, and bad that I take it for granted.
Snuff is a Vimes book, with cameos from the rest of the Watch. It mixes humour and social comment in Pratchett's typical style. And I don't really know what more there is to say about it.
It's the 39th one. I imagine, by now, you know whether these books are for you. If not, then this is probably not a good place to start.
I liked it. Compared to the last ten or so Discworld books, I'd say it was neither outstanding nor disappointing. 3.5/5.
