How to Ditch Your Fairy

This is a cute, light fantasy aimed at the middle school age group. In New Avalon, set in a world where many people have a fairy with a specific talent, our heroine wants to get rid of her parking fairy, stop getting demerits at school, get on the basketball team, and hook up with the new boy, Stefan. She manages to mess it all up royally but entertainingly, before coming through in the end. The end comes too easily and conveniently and there are loose ends--but this is the first of a series and so one can assume said ends will be addressed in further books. Meanwhile, Cholly (Charlotte) has made some personal growth through her difficulties.
