Tau Zero

I liked the background and theme of this novel. I find things like time dilation, travels through galaxies over centuries and aeons, etc., evocative and poetic. My problem was the characters. Some of them were rather one-dimensional, which I could have lived with, but I was repelled by the hero (if that's what he was) Carl Reymont, a macho alpha male who beats people into line for their own good.

I liked enough of the book to make me want to read more by this author, but I hope his other ones don't have protagonists like this.
