House of Leaves

House of Leaves is weird. House of Leaves is so, so weird that it genuinely made me lose track of time as I got completely invested in trying to figure out just what the hell was going on. It's a phenomenal work of art, utterly unique, multi-layered, fascinating and horrifying. It's a book that has a certain reputation on the internet of driving you completely mad if you actually try to completely understand it, and I can definitely see that - I feel like I have a good surface understanding, but it took me several months to get through it. And my understanding is that this is an utterly phenomenal work of art. If you like horror, especially of the bizarre, psychological kind, I can't recommend this enough.
