I give it 4 stars for 2 reasons...it is excessively long. It is like he is trying to Match the length and wordiness of King or McCammon. The second point is politics. Just because you are right wing, doesn't mean you are an evil racist white supremacist.
>That said, it was a solid book and a good story. I am impressed by the effort Mr. Wendig put into learning the science , from the biology of a plague to the intricacies of AI. How will the world end? What is the fate of humanity? Will it go out in a cataclysmic event of nature (asteroid, sun nova, super-volcano), a man-made catastrophe (nuclear holocaust)? Will it peter out more silently, (plague, starvation, zoonotic jump)? Will it endure and evolve? Only time will tell.
>The apocalypse will remain one of my favorite areas of speculative fiction. This book will be added to the slowly growing list of worthy titles.
