This is a fun, short novel about aliens crash landing in a New Jersey swamp and doing their best to blend into the American landscape whilde still living relaively normal lives. It follow all five of the crashed crew, jumping from one story to another as time passes, and in the end ties up the entire story very neatly.
There is lots that ties the story to the UFO craze of the mid-20th century, so for older readers there will be a lot of familar ground covered.
There's no deep meaning here I could see, but the writing was engaging and it is clear why this was a Nebula nominee.
