A really nice conclusion to the trilogy. It's a deeply dark yet believable story that caps off all the little plot threads revealed in the earlier books. Skara, Raith, and Koll are good as main characters (though none of them ascend to the heights of Yarvi), the writing is still excellent, above average for young adult fantasy, and I'm glad I read it. Looking back on the trilogy overall, I'm a pretty big fan: the politics and mechanics of the world are presented believably, and the post-apocalyptic setting is implied well enough in the early books that you can figure it out in a satisfying way before it's all but revealed later on, and for my first Joe Abercrombie books, I'm pretty happy. I still think they peaked with the first book of the series, but it was great overall.
