Nebula award winning feminist science fiction. Only...
This novel is more message than story, and very little science fiction.
Some of the message is very valid, while other bits (railing against housework and mindless marriage) are less valid today than in the 70s - may they continue to stay less valid!
The author intentionally jumps between narrators to confuse the reader.
In the end, I didn't abandon it (though it took a month to finish) and I did give it as many chances as I could (comparing other reviews, looking at relevant articles, etc.). I just didn't like it, and it didn't speak to me. Perhaps the author intended one of those results, but likely not both.
