On the upside: competently written, decent action sequences and some interesting twists. I really like the world building, especially the whole Shadowhunters/ Downworlders / Mundanes dynamic. On the downside, the main characters are a bit annoying and seem pretty shallow. I find the whole Jace/Clara brother/sister love yearning just plain dumb. That said, there's enough here to keep me onboard for Book 3.
