Virgin Planet

So of its time, it's almost impossible to review. (I mean, it's set in teh distant future, and the semi-primitive warrior-heroine is named Barbara Whitley, for crying out loud.) For what it is, I actually found this surprisingly palatable - but it may really only be worth reading if you're a fan of pulp or a Poul Anderson completionist. The book summary probably tells you everything you need to know.
