The Fourth

A boy with the knowledge of a miraculous machine is pursued by a former friend and colleague of his father to take control of the boy and the machine for his own nefarious ends. The story follows the struggles the boy has in trying to avoid capture, and to avoid making the machine the schemer wants.

This story describes the challenges a child has in a world ruled by adults and adult privilege. Time and again he is frustrated by the fact he is 'only a child' and must defer to the decisions and commands of adults, even though he knows one of these adults is a cold-blooded murderer and wants to own the machine his father invented.

Well paced and descriptive of the challenges the boy faces on the way to ensuring the safety of his father's greatest accomplishment.
