This was my second Sawyer book, the first being The Terminal Experiment, which was pretty good. Rollback, however, was very disappointing. It's basically a formulaic rom-com with the tension being caused by the protagonist's age rollback. Ostensibly, it's first contact, but this element is hardly explored at all. Rather, all the time is spent with the key person's spouse, who successfully gets younger. Sawyer writes in a poor man's Michael Crichton sort of way, a bestseller style where regular life has one or two SF elements thrown in. If you like Sawyer, you'll probably like this, but this is not how I like my SF.
