A talented artist and a talented sculptor who married more than two decades before have given up their dreams of gallery showings for jobs in the corporate world, two teenaged kids, and a mortgage.
But then the artist starts to encounter a younger version of herself everywhere, causing her to retrace her steps from those early years and triggering lost memories to resurface. And her own personality seems to be changing, becoming more like the adventure junkie she used to be, interspersed with sporadic random blackouts.
Is she hallucinating? Time-traveling? Slipping into an alternate universe?
I really liked the science-fictional aspect of this story, the surprises in her recovered memories, and the way that the reader gets an answer and a resolution in the end.
