Mixed emotions about this novel. The story is well-told and certainly thought-provoking. Compassionate, educated humanists are pitted against a dogmatic Christian cult in a post-apocalyptic world to save humanity and civilization. Eventually, they must come together for a common cause. Conflicts remain.
The tropes used to define each side are over the top: Christians are evil, and humanists are outstanding. Wren leaves no doubt about which side she is on. Thus, no spoiler alert is needed to know the outcome.
If you start the book, stick around for the suspenseful cliffhanger ending.
