I heard of this book on the latest NPR list of 100 best horror tales. I have an old anthology of horror & mystery tales that was passed down from my grandfather; one book was devoted to Le Fanu. So I grabbed it, and sure enough, Carmilla is in it. It's a bit like reading Frankenstein or Machen, in formal, archaic language, but it is a great, creepy tale. The story events grow on you much like "The Great God Pan." Recommended!
