Worth reading, but not as good as the first book in the series
This book alternates between chapters of background on the galactic rebels set in the time before Lightless and chapters of what occurs after the events of that book, with a ship's engineer and the sentient artificial intelligence into which the ship's computer has evolved.
I didn't enjoy this as much as the first book, which was really good for a debut novel. I'll probably read the third book, but I've kind of lost my enthusiasm for this series.
