Location: CA | Alright so I'm well into the first book and, wow, this is going to be either the most innovative movie in recent memory or an awkward flop! I could see Ridley Scott taking over and making this something like a Promethus, or if in lesser hands it might become a Congo reboot at best. |

Location: CA | Definitely, apparently the coming books radically change the nature of the story so it is hard to say exactly what the end product could look like. Few details are out so there are a lot of variables that would contribute to the success or failure of a potential movie. |

SL is right most are clearly more 'conventional' narrative choices. Others like the SRT are not.
Apparently The Martian may be getting Matt Damon treatment, if that matters to you.
